Mr. Abrams is currently a Senior Advisor to the Trust Co. of the West. From 1986 until 2006, Mr. Abrams served as Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer for Asset Allocation of Trust Company of the West. He co-managed a multi-billion dollar global asset allocation strategy utilizing the full range of domestic and international equities and bonds. Over the past twelve years, this strategy outperformed its constructed benchmark by over 200 basis points annually, net of fees. About one third of the outperformance resulted from the periodic reallocation of assets. Mr. Abrams also co-managed TCW's flaghsip U.S Equity fund from 1992 to 1996. He was a member of all of the firm's major equity and fixed income committees, and also served on the various governance committees with responsibility for supervising each of the firm's major equity and fixed income products. Prior to joining TCW, he was Managing Director, and Chief Investment Strategist of Kidder Peabody and Co., with responsibility for developing and communicating a comprehensive investment outlook for both institutional and individual clients in the U.S. and abroad. Before that, Mr. Abrams served for twenty years as a General partner, Chief investment Strategist, and Co-Manager of the International Department of Oppenheimer & Co.
In the past, Stefan Abrams served as Director and Chairman of the Finance Committee of Westell Technologies, and as Trustee and Treasurer of the American Ballet Theatre, The School of American Ballet, Vassar College, Concord Academy, and the Liberty Street Trust Company. He is a chartered financial analyst and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.
Mr. Abrams has an A.B. Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
